Sunday 9:30am - 12:30pm (Advanced members only)

The Dance Studio

Cardiff Metropolitan University

Cyncoed Campus

Cyncoed Road

CF23 6XD

All adult classes will be £5 per session to help the club cover the costs of hiring the venue. Once back at the university, we will revert back to our usual extremely cheap fees! But for now, while we are at this temporary venue, we will require payment for each session.

Membership fees: £35 /year

Membership fee will cover you for everything you need to start practising kendo. This means you will be borrowing club equipment until you can buy your own. If you decide to continue practising with us, you will need to buy your own set of clothing (Gi & Hakama).

If you would like to drop in to observe a session, you are more than welcome. You can let us know beforehand by contacting us here.

 Junior Classes

UPDATE: Great news, our children’s classes have started up again!!
We are running from 7.30-8.30pm at the Welsh Institute of Sport, Sophia Gardens, Cathedral Road in the Fitness Studio on Tuesday Evenings.

Initial joining fee: £20 - which will get you a shinai (bamboo kendo sword)

Membership fee: £10 /month. Please note: Parents will need to register online with the British Kendo Association on behalf of their child. A 3-month trial membership will cost £10. For more information regarding the BKA membership, please visit their website.

We do ask that a parent or guardian is in attendance for the full hour of the kendo session as this avoids any complications once the session has finished in regards to having someone there to take the children home or look after them. As people are currently not allowed to wander around the building or wait indoors, parents can either wait outside, in their car or make sure to return by 8.15pm to pick up their child.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
