Welcome to Denshinkan!

Kendo is the way of the sword, or Japanese sword fighting. It is one of Japan's oldest martial arts and is now practised across the world by men and women of all ages.

Here at Denshinkan, the Cardiff Met Kendo club, we are building a group of new starters (or experienced members) as an introduction to Kendo and to take part in the University championships held each year in the UK.  As well as our growing adults class, it is also a martial art for kids of all ages.

However, Kendo is not purely about competing, it is a means and a way to improve yourself through the application of what are referred to as the ‘principles of the sword’.  By practicing kendo you will gain better coordination, improved self-confidence, improved focus and concentration, fitness and self-control.
